FAQ

Q: Does it come in black?

A: YES, it does. The idea for this shop came from my frustration in finding black t-shirts that were funny (actually funny, not ‘men’s appendages’ funny), and there were so many color options in store, and I didn’t care for the pink t-shirts. I was also running out of t-shirts to wear because I had to retire the ones I’ve been wearing for about a decade or so.

They have become wall art (I like being surrounded by my inspiration), which is described in THIS article on how to do and other fun DIY options when you have too many shirts to wear in rotation.

Q: Why only black shirts?

A: To be honest, it’s a design creativity constraint. I like the story about Dr. Suess writing a book with only 50 words (Green Eggs and Ham, FYI), and I liked the idea of seeing what I could create with such a limited arena. So far, it’s been fun, but as I add other categories, I might experiment

I offer them in long and short-sleeve options because that’s less of a one-size-fits-all option. Also, sometimes you don’t want long sleeves, but the short sleeves are just too short (SEE HERE for tailoring ideas)

Q: How are they made?

A: The shirts are created with direct-to-garment printing in an effort to limit waste and keep overhead costs lower.

Q: Can I really make other stuff with my shirts?

A: ABSOLUTELY. It’s a load of fun making things. I’m a DIY queen (there are four things in my apartment that I didn’t alter somehow or are in the works to be personalized) and have been making things longer than I have been reading. My mother first taught me crochet when I was five. I’ve learned a lot over the last thirty years of making things, and I really love modification over from scratch, and T-shirts are kind of this cool space where I can take something and make it better, cooler, or at least more fun. Click Here for project ideas, supplies, and instructions that will make you laugh…maybe?

Q: Are you a comedian?

A: No, I have answered that question throughout most of my employment in traditional companies. There are only so many jokes in my arsenal, and well, sometimes I don’t come up with new ones that often. But I was raised to tell jokes. BLAME the nurse who scheduled my mother’s induction the day after easter the year I was born. April 1st. Joke's on you.

Q: Donations with each shirt?

A: With each shirt, a portion of the price goes towards a specific charity. With the motorcycle-themed shirts, it is sent to the Motorcycle Safety Association, which is about raising awareness and training in motorcycles. Here’s a link to their site for more information

The dancing-related ones are going to a local charity that hits my heart, Nashville School of Ballet, which has programs for keeping youth in their programs when cost becomes prohibitive (the cost of pointe shoes is…out of this world). Here’s a link to their program details.

Q: Why do you have only two designs available at a time?

A: I decided that this shop needs to have a very specific focus. There are too many choices, and people won’t buy. Therefore, I keep only the logo shirt for the topic and the monthly special. This gives the sense of novelty with something new every month, without having too many choices all at once. I offer each design in short or long sleeves in all the sizes I can.

I do have a special sale for BLACK Friday that will rerelease the last year’s design for an’ in case you missed it’ opportunity.
